East European Beer Award

East European Beer Award – the first in Ukraine international tasting competition of beer and cider, will be held in compliance with European standards!

Organizers: founder of the media group “Technologies and Innovations” and co-founder of “Kyiv Beer League”.

The competition is open and independent, to be held on neutral territory. There will be no one brewer among the sponsors.

The competition received a regular “residence permit” in the city of Rivne. (Hotel and restaurant complex “Aivengo”).

Today the necessity in such a type of event is obvious: due to plenty number of beer producers in Ukraine now who make a bet on high quality and new beer styles.

We are glad to invite both Ukrainian and foreign breweries and beer brands of any scale to participate in the beer competition, including large national beer and cider producers to medium and small breweries, restaurants-breweries, experimental -breweries and contract brewers!

The Panel of Judges will include Ukrainian and European beer experts, experienced tasters, sommeliers, technologists, beergeeks, writers and bloggers, brewers.

Each contest participant can send an application to the panel of judges for one participant of their beer judges (tasters). The applicant can submit his application for registration of independent beer judge by filling out the registration form till February 29, 2022. The decision on enrollment to the judge panel will be accepted by the competition organizers only after taking into account the provided information (for example, tasting and brewing experience, the existence of certificates issued by Kyiv Beer Academy, London Beer Academy, Prague Beer Academy, etc.) The organizers reserve the right to invite foreign brewing experts for participation in the Judicial Board.

VI Tasting Competition East European Beer Award will take place on March 2-4, 2022. hotel and restaurant complex “Aivengo” will gladly host this event. Meanwhile, the award ceremony will be taking place on March 24, within the XI International Forum of Brewers and Restaurateurs.

Competition Calendar

• Registration of beer samples for the Tasting Competition starts from 1st December 2022.
• Providing special offer – discount for early booking – until 31- st December 2021.
• The final day for beer sample registration till 25-th February 2022.

It should be noted the fact that the first competition East European Beer Award took place successfully on October 18, 2017, in the restaurant Skybar MANHATTAN Rivne, and the results – on our website.

The next East European Beer Award 2018 took place on October 8-9 in Kharkiv, hosted by a show restaurant-brewery Altbier. More details about the results of the competition at the site too.

East European Beer Award 2019 was held on October 8-9 in Rivne, in the hotel and restaurant complex “Aivengo” that brought together 80 breweries – participants. Moreover, 342 beer samples in 16 categories were evaluated by 100 beer judges. You can get acquainted with the results of this competition 2019 by following the link.

IV Tasting Competition East European Beer Award was successfully held on March 11-12 in Rivne. In 2020, this event brought together 85 breweries from all over Ukraine and worldwide, including Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, and Austria. The brewers submitted 331 beer samples in 20 categories for tasting.

The quality of beer samples and appropriateness to the declared category were evaluated by 95 beer judges. At the same time, 32 participating breweries won gold, silver, and bronze medals in various beer categories. You can read about the results of the competition 2020 on our website.

On April 21-22, 2021, the jubilee Tasting Competition East European Beer Award took place in Rivne! The event was hosted by the Hotel and Restaurant Complex “Aivengo”. The best beer and ciders of Ukraine have been chosen there! Thus, 5th Tasting Competition was the largest event more than ever in its history to be represented by 411 beer samples in the 22 categories.

Thus, 84 breweries and cider producers presented their beverages during  competition. By tradition, the samples were evaluated by a qualified panel of judges, which included 92 beer judges from Ukraine and abroad, in particular, certified sommeliers, representatives of the Association of Sommeliers of Ukraine, the Association of Bartenders of Ukraine, market experts, beer representatives and only 30% of breweries. The panel of judges was formed of professionals and enthusiasts of the beer industry. These are representatives of the companies participating in the competition, as well as independent beer judges. The minimum number of beer judges is 50 participants.
