V Tasting competition of beer and cider East European Beer Award-2021 will take place on March 31 - April 1 in Rivne!

According to Kateryna Koneva, the founder of the East European Beer Award Tasting Competition, the basic principles of the competition remain unchanged – transparency, independence and objectivity! The organizers of the beer competition are the media group “Technology and Innovation” together with the Ukrainian Association of Beer Sommeliers Kyiv Beer League. The Association “Independent Breweries of Ukraine” provides its support to the Competition.
The results of four previous competitions show that the East European Beer Award is not just a beer competition. The West, expanding the horizons of consumption and production, moves forward not only the beer industry, but in general increases the culture of beverage consumption, promotes quality beer. So plan what beers and ciders to present at the next competition! If the East European Beer Award 2020 was held in 20 categories, in 2021 it will cover 22 categories.

The decision to expand this list was made during a detailed analysis of the market and feedback from participants. Additional categories of 2021 – Experimental IPA, Non-alcoholic Beer.

The organizers do not discriminate against brewers in terms of production and level of equipment, do not divide producers into small, medium and large. Make a note of the main dates of the Tasting Contest calendar:
November 1, 2020 – March 26, 2021 – registration of beer samples for the competition
March 28-30, 2021 – delivery of samples to the competition
March 31 – April 1, 2021 – Tasting competition
April 22, 2021 – Awards within the X Forum of Brewers and Restaurateurs.
The tastings will take place on March 31-April 1 in Rivne, on the basis of the hotel and restaurant complex “Ivanhoe”, where the East European Beer Award competition has received permanent residence. Preliminary moderation will be introduced to accurately identify the beer in the category.
The organizers will issue guidelines for a deeper understanding of the principles of tasting, with a description of the categories, to eliminate errors in the tasting process and improve the quality of evaluation. In addition, everyone will have the opportunity to learn the skills of professional tasting or pump their skills at a special seminar from Kyiv Beer Academy.
The rules of tasting, which became the basis of the principles of evaluation at the competition, will be analyzed in detail in practice. The dates of the seminars will be announced later. The competition will be supported by the powerful Association of Sommeliers of Ukraine, with the participation of international experts. The independent observer at the East European Beer Award 2021 is the patent law firm Pakharenko & Partners, which acts as a guarantor of high-quality and independent processing of the competition results and transparency.
Brewers, technologists, owners of breweries, representatives of trade and restaurant chains, beer restaurants, bars and pubs, tasters, distributors, beer enthusiasts are invited to the panel of judges. Pre-registration form for judges The second day of tastings, April 1, will end with a friendly dinner for participants and beer judges with a discussion of the competition, samples, market trends. After all, the East European Beer Award is not only a competition, but also the only platform in the country for live analytics, large-scale market cutting and exchange of views.
The award ceremony of the IV Tasting Competition East European Beer Award will take place in three weeks, at the X Forum of Brewers and Restaurateurs, which will be held on April 22, 2021 (venue will be specified). The organizers will prepare samples of awards, which will indicate the name of the brewery, category and name of the winning beer. This will be a valuable award that will be a real decoration of the brewery’s collection of prizes for many years and an effective tool for increasing product sales.
